Floyd, VA

Stacy Snyder grew up in the mountains of southwest Virginia. The forms for her tableware are reminiscent of silos, wooden barns, and water towers. She accents these pieces with a palette of glazes and decals derived from the natural world. Snyder received her BFA from Indiana University and her MFA from Penn State (PA.) She came to Missouri in 1996 to participate in the Kansas City Art Institute’s special status student program. Snyder works full-time in her home studio and is a participant in the annual 16 Hands Artist Collective Studio Tour in Floyd, VA.
