Hayne Bayless
Hayne Bayless is a ceramicist based out of Sideways Studio in Connecticut, where he has been creating his hand-built vessels since 1990. In 1970, he was a student of potter Itaka Sokkuzan and sumi painter Ryoichi Saito in Tokyo. Since then he has helped to cultivate ceramics programs in the state of Washington, as well as been a part of several ceramics and art-based organizations. He has exhibited nationally including at the Smithsonian, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the American Craft Museum in New York. He's represented by galleries in Maine, Montana, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. He now splits his time between giving workshops around the country and creating in his studio.
