Mary Fischer grew up on the land her great-grandparents had settled in central Texas. Her ceramic sculptures are inspired by her familiar surroundings of landscape and the architecture of German Texas settlers. Before she became a ceramicist, she worked as a map maker in Austin, TX. She currently lives and works in central Texas.
