This yellow bean bowl was slip cast with porcelain. Its a double walled bowl, and was a painted with a pale yellow glaze. The bowl was fired in a cone 6 oxidation process.

Hiroe Hanazono, a native of Japan, received her MFA from the Ohio University in 2008. In addition to participating as an artist in residence at the Archie Bray Foundation and Worcester Center for the Crafts, Hanazono has worked at various artist communities including the Peters Valley Craft Center and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. Her porcelain casted wares have been shown both nationally and internationally. Hanazono was the recipient of the 2008-2009 Evelyn Shapiro Foundation Fellowship at the Clay Studio in Philadelphia, where she continues to work. |
