Nick Joerling

March 6 - April 18, 2015
Opening Reception - First Friday, March 6, 6-9PM
Featuring: Nick Joerling

Location: Belger Crane Yard Studios
2011 Tracy Ave., Kansas City, MO 64108

Sensuality, empathy and humor are qualities inherent in Nick Joerling’s expressive and gestural forms. His non-traditional techniques challenge the constraints of utility, resulting in pots that entertain risky possibilities.

Along with the exhibition, Joerling will be teaching one and two-day workshops entitled Expressive Pots: Throwing and Altering with Nick Joerling. The workshop takes place on Saturday, March 7 for the one-day, March 7-8 for the two-day workshop and is open to all skill levels. Please visit our Workshops page for more information or to enroll.

Nick Joerling is a full-time studio potter who has maintained a studio in Penland, North Carolina since the mid-1980's. He received a B.A. in History from the University of Dayton, Ohio, and an M.F.A. in Ceramics from Louisiana State University in 1986. He has taught in craft programs in the United States and abroad, been widely reviewed and exhibited, and is represented in public and private collections.
