Roberto Lugo feed

Roberto Lugo's ceramics are intended to be a biographical narrative that tells the many stories of his life. The pieces speak of  his personal experiences with obesity, racism, and class division, using hand-drawn imagery as a direct way to tell stories to diverse audiences. Lugo uses china paint on porcelain, historically used in ornate wares for elite families, when depicting graffiti-inspired imagery to illustrate elements of a different class. Lugo ultimately hopes to influence positive change by creating a platform to view our cultural differences and to consider our similarities.
