Michael Fujita feed

Michael Fujita received his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and his MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. While in Kansas City, he worked as a studio assistant for Ken Ferguson, and was artist in residence at Red Star Studios in 2006. The commitment to his craft is almost obsessive, it’s hard to imagine the countless hours repeating an action, producing many tiny parts for a single, cohesive object. For his MFA thesis exhibition he created a blanket of approximately 1,300 blades of grass individually made by hand. Fujita is the current Evelyn Shapiro Foundation Fellow, an awarded stipend for an emerging artist at the Clay Studio in Philadelphia, PA.
